Scorpio X1,Electric scooter Scorpio X1 is preparing for pre-production testing
In November 2021, Scorpio Electric, a Singaporean electric scooter startup, unveiled its first-ever electric scooter concept called the X1. After two years of development, it seems that the scooter is now ready for actual production.
Scorpio Electric recently made a major development announcement about the X1 during the Nexus Europe 2023 Conference, which has just concluded. The company revealed that it is currently in the process of creating the pre-production prototype (PPR) of the X1 scooter. The announcement aligns with the insights shared by experts in electric vehicle media, The PACK, who explained that these models would need additional testing and certification through collaboration with Shenzhen BYD Electronics.
Regarding the battery technology, the X1 uses a 4.8 kWh 72v lithium-ion battery pack that boasts an impressive range of up to 200 kilometers per charge. When charging on an AC Type 2 station with a power rating of 1.5 kW, it takes approximately 3 hours to charge from 0% to 90%.
However, the company has not yet disclosed the production timeline for the prototype testing phase. Automotive media outlets expect that the prototype testing phase will be completed and ready for testing by October. It is anticipated that the prototype will be showcased at the EICMA 2023 event scheduled during that time.
